LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman sustained injuries requiring surgery and multiple vehicles were damaged after a driver in a pickup truck deliberately rammed into a sedan and several parked cars early Wednesday morning in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The incident, which occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of 92nd and Bandera Streets, was captured on home surveillance video. The footage showed the pickup truck colliding with parked vehicles, leaving behind a chaotic scene.

“Around like 4 in the morning I just heard a loud commotion,” one neighbor recounted. “When I got there, I just saw a lady, she was already on the floor yelling for help. The cars were just a disaster.”

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the driver of the pickup fled the scene on foot and is suspected to have been armed. The injured woman, who had been inside a sedan struck by the truck, suffered a leg injury requiring surgery. At least four parked vehicles were heavily damaged during the incident.

Residents in the neighborhood expressed fear and frustration, citing ongoing concerns about safety in the area. Several neighbors, who chose to remain anonymous due to concerns about possible retaliation, believe the collision was intentional and linked to a personal dispute.

“It’s not the first time it’s happened,” said another neighbor. “There was another incident involving another family down the block. We’ve been telling them to do something about this.”

Speculation from witnesses suggests the driver of the truck may have been the woman’s ex-boyfriend. “I guess [the driver] was her ex-boyfriend,” said one neighbor. “I don’t know what happened. Maybe they ended things pretty badly or something.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.

“If he’s willing to hurt someone like that, then yeah, people ought to be very aware of everything,” warned a local resident.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are working to determine the motive behind the crash and locate the suspect. Residents hope the incident will prompt increased attention to safety concerns in the area.
