LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman suspected of driving a stolen vehicle led authorities on a high-speed chase along the 405 Freeway before finally stopping in Inglewood, where she surrendered while wearing only a bikini and an unzipped coat, officials said.
The incident began when law enforcement officers attempted to pull over a white sedan believed to have been stolen. Instead of complying with police orders, the driver accelerated, evading officers and leading them on a pursuit through multiple areas, including Hawthorne and Lawndale. The chase unfolded on surface streets and the freeway, with authorities closely following the suspect as she weaved through traffic.
As the pursuit progressed, officers continued their efforts to bring the vehicle to a stop safely. Eventually, the driver pulled over in Inglewood, ending the chase without further escalation. When she exited the car, she was seen wearing an unzipped coat, revealing a bikini underneath. She calmly surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody at the scene.
Officials have not provided details on where the vehicle was originally stolen from or if the suspect had outstanding warrants or prior criminal history. Investigators are working to determine if she was involved in any other crimes leading up to the chase.
No injuries were reported during the pursuit, and no collisions occurred as a result of the suspect’s actions. Authorities are now reviewing the circumstances of the incident, including how the vehicle was stolen and whether additional charges may be filed.
The investigation remains active, and officials are expected to release further information as it becomes available.
