LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 17-year-old girl and her 1-year-old daughter who were reported missing in Los Angeles County on Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued a special bulletin identifying the missing individuals as Luz Martinez Cifuentes and her infant daughter, Maydeline Catalan Martinez. They were last seen around 2:50 p.m. on the 16900 block of East Avenue O in Palmdale.

While officials have not provided details about the circumstances of their disappearance, authorities described the pair as “missing at risk” and expressed concern for their well-being. Investigators believe Luz may be traveling toward Los Angeles.

Luz is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She has straight brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a green sweatshirt, tan jacket, and black pants.

Her daughter, Maydeline, is approximately 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 22 pounds. She has straight brown hair and brown eyes, and a scar on her right pinky finger. The child was last seen wearing a hot pink puffer jacket.

The Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the case and is asking anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact detectives at 661-948-8466. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 800-222-8477 or visiting lacrimestoppers.org.

Authorities continue to search the surrounding areas and are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of finding leads.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are urging the public to share any sightings or relevant details to assist in locating the missing teen and her daughter.
