LOS ANGELES, CA – A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after being stabbed during a carnival in Anaheim on Sunday night, prompting an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anaheim police said officers responded around 9 p.m. to reports of a stabbing in a parking lot near the 2000 block of South Anaheim Boulevard, close to Cerritos Street. The area was hosting a temporary carnival that had drawn sizable crowds over the weekend.
Street People learned that the teen was found by first responders with stab wounds and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. SP obtained information indicating that while the injuries were serious, they were deemed non-life-threatening, and the victim remains in stable condition.
According to insights uncovered by SP, the events leading up to the stabbing remain unclear. Authorities have not released suspect descriptions, and it is not yet known whether the attack stemmed from an altercation, was part of a larger disturbance, or occurred without provocation.
The carnival was briefly disrupted as officers secured the site, interviewed witnesses, and canvassed nearby businesses for surveillance footage that could aid in identifying those involved. SP reviewed indications that investigators are examining whether any previous incidents at the event may be connected.
Police have not disclosed whether the victim and assailant knew one another. No arrests have been made, and the name of the victim has been withheld due to his age.
