LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities in Orange County have released surveillance footage of a person of interest connected to the fatal shooting of a 50-year-old man in Anaheim last October, as detectives continue to search for leads in the unresolved homicide.
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of gunfire on the 11500 block of Mossler Street shortly after 10 p.m. on October 13, where they found Jorge Sanchez Tapia suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tapia was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by first responders.
Street People learned that surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual walking along Mossler Street just moments before the shooting occurred. Investigators believe the person may have key information relevant to the case, though they have not publicly identified the individual as a suspect.
SP obtained additional details indicating that several people fled the area in a silver or grey Lincoln MKZ sedan before law enforcement arrived. The total number of suspects remains unknown, and no arrests have been made to date. Officials have not confirmed whether Tapia was deliberately targeted or caught in a random act of violence.
According to insights reviewed by SP, investigators are still working to establish a motive. No suspect descriptions have been released, and authorities are urging the public to assist by reviewing the surveillance footage and reporting any information that could help identify the individual shown or locate the vehicle involved.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department says the investigation remains active and that community cooperation is essential to moving the case forward.
