BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A Los Angeles-based social media influencer experienced a concerning incident upon returning from an overseas vacation earlier this week, in what authorities believe may have been an orchestrated theft attempt.

The incident occurred at the 10000 block of a Beverly Hills-area building where the influencer resides. According to reports, an unidentified man waited for over two hours at the location, inquiring about her whereabouts. When the influencer’s Uber arrived, the man approached the vehicle and handed the driver $20 before beginning to remove luggage from the car.

Upon noticing the man was not associated with building staff or valet services, the influencer confronted him. The suspect responded cryptically, stating, “I have a surprise for you”, and said that he had a gun on him. He then fled the scene on foot with the luggage, prompting the Uber driver to intervene. The driver was able to recover the suitcase nearby on Moreno Drive. The man subsequently escaped in a Dodge Charger.

The Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) has confirmed that a police report was filed and investigations are underway. Sources close to the investigation suggest the incident may have been an inside job, given the suspect’s apparent familiarity with the influencer’s arrival schedule and residence details.

While the victim was unharmed, the incident raises concerns about personal safety and security, particularly for high-profile individuals in the digital space. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and urge anyone with additional information about the suspect or the Dodge Charger to contact the BHPD immediately.

A $10,000 reward was set based on information leading to this man’s arrest. He had a gun on him as well.

This incident highlights a growing trend where public figures, including influencers, are targeted due to their high visibility on social media. Law enforcement officials caution individuals to be vigilant about sharing travel plans and personal details online.

Beverly Hills police continue to investigate.
