LOS ANGELES, CA – A Claremont homeowner is speaking out after her home was burglarized in a swift, systematic manner captured on security cameras, fueling concerns about a possible connection to organized crime rings targeting Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

The burglary occurred on Oct. 12 around 7 p.m. at a residence near Padua Avenue, according to the victim, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of being targeted again.

Security footage shows three suspects entering the home by jumping over the front gate and breaking a glass door in the backyard. The individuals, carrying backpacks and suitcases, are seen methodically moving through the house.

Once upstairs, the suspects stripped the bed to use the sheets as a makeshift sack. They filled it with high-value items, including handbags, scarves, and sunglasses, and tossed the bundle over a balcony for easy retrieval on their way out.

“They were in and out in nine minutes,” the homeowner said. “It felt like maybe we were being targeted, but we’re not sure if they followed us or if it was just opportunistic.”

At one point, one of the suspects made direct eye contact with the security camera. The group fled in a two-door hatchback, according to the victim.

The homeowner reached out to local media after seeing coverage of crime tourism rings operating in Los Angeles and the Santa Clarita Valley. She suspects the group responsible for her break-in may be linked to these organized operations.

“It’s a shock,” she said. “You feel violated and scared—especially thinking about what could have happened if we were home.”

Claremont police confirmed several recent burglaries in the area and said investigations remain ongoing.

Authorities advised residents to remain vigilant, monitor their surroundings, and report any suspicious activity. “If you believe you are being followed, call 911 immediately,” the department said in a statement.

The incident adds to growing concerns about sophisticated burglary methods attributed to organized theft groups, prompting local officials to urge heightened community awareness.
