BELLFLOWER, CA – A man allegedly armed with a gun was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies Friday night in Bellflower, authorities said.
Deputies responded around 9:06 p.m. to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 10400 block of Artesia Boulevard, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
After arriving at the scene, deputies opened fire and struck the man, LASD said in a statement.
“The male adult suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased,” the department said.
No deputies were injured in the shooting.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity, and additional details about what led deputies to fire have not been made public. It was also not immediately clear whether investigators recovered a firearm at the scene.
Information reviewed by Street People indicates the case remains in its early stages, with LASD providing only limited details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
