LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 17-year-old girl and her 1-year-old daughter who were reported missing in Los Angeles County on Thursday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued a special bulletin identifying the missing individuals as Luz Martinez Cifuentes and her infant daughter, Maydeline Catalan Martinez. They were last seen around 2:50 p.m. on the 16900 block of East Avenue O in Palmdale.
While officials have not provided details about the circumstances of their disappearance, authorities described the pair as “missing at risk” and expressed concern for their well-being. Investigators believe Luz may be traveling toward Los Angeles.
Luz is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She has straight brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a green sweatshirt, tan jacket, and black pants.
Her daughter, Maydeline, is approximately 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 22 pounds. She has straight brown hair and brown eyes, and a scar on her right pinky finger. The child was last seen wearing a hot pink puffer jacket.
