LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are offering a range of online tools and resources to keep the public informed about the ongoing wildfire crisis in Southern California, including the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, and other blazes fueled by the powerful Santa Ana winds.

CalFire has launched dedicated incident homepages that provide up-to-date information on fire perimeters, acreage burned, evacuation orders, and warnings. These tools are crucial for residents seeking timely updates and safety information. Specific homepages have been established for each major fire:

  • Palisades Fire Incident Homepage
  • Eaton Fire Incident Homepage
  • Hurst Fire Incident Homepage

Each incident page features detailed maps and data to assist both evacuees and those monitoring the fires’ progression.

Regular Status Updates

Incident commanders are also issuing frequent Status Update Reports, often on an hourly basis. These reports include critical details about fire containment efforts, the number of firefighting resources deployed, and the extent of structural damage. They also highlight road closures, evacuation zones, and summaries of the evolving situation. Reports can be accessed through links provided for each fire:

  • Palisades Fire Status Reports
  • Eaton Fire Status Reports

Local Resources and Alerts

Los Angeles County’s emergency operations website provides a central hub for residents to access information about all significant fires within the county. This platform allows users to register for emergency alerts via email or phone, ensuring timely updates about evacuation orders or other critical notices.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department also offers live updates on all active incidents, including fire status and containment efforts, on their official alert platform.

Interactive 3D Maps

CalFire has developed three-dimensional maps to enhance public understanding of wildfire behavior and impact. These interactive maps allow users to pan, zoom, and explore current fire perimeters, evacuation areas, and other crucial data:

  • Palisades Fire 3D Map
  • Eaton Fire 3D Map

The 3D mapping tools are particularly useful for residents seeking to understand how close the fires may be to their homes or businesses, as well as for visualizing evacuation routes.

Continuing Efforts

As firefighters battle against intense winds and dry conditions, officials emphasize the importance of staying informed through these platforms. Public safety remains the top priority, and authorities are urging residents to adhere to evacuation orders and avoid fire-affected areas.

For more information, residents can visit the dedicated websites and tools provided by CalFire and local agencies. These resources remain critical as Southern California continues to face one of its most severe wildfire seasons in recent history.
