LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Santa Ana after a 48-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds Saturday night, police said.
The Santa Ana Police Department received a report of gunfire at around 8:51 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Wood Street.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered the victim, identified as Trino Steven Leon of Anaheim, lying with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority transported Leon to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and no suspect information has been released.
“Homicide detectives are working to identify and locate additional witnesses who may provide information about the case,” the department said in a statement Sunday.

The department noted that this case is eligible for the Gang Reward Program, which provides financial incentives for information leading to arrests in gang-related crimes.
