LOS ANGELES, CA – Two men have been arrested in connection with a brazen smash-and-grab robbery at an AutoZone store in South Los Angeles earlier this year, authorities said.
The arrests stem from an incident on June 10, when a large crowd gathered for an illegal street takeover in the Vermont Vista neighborhood. Amid the chaos, a group of 50 to 75 people broke into the AutoZone store on the 600 block of West Century Boulevard, stealing an estimated $67,000 worth of goods, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.
On Thursday, investigators apprehended two suspects linked to the theft: Adrian Vivero, 18, and Trevon Lexion, 39. Both face burglary charges.
Vivero was also found in possession of an unregistered firearm, over $10,500 in cash, and a quantity of narcotics intended for sale, police said.
Authorities continue to seek additional information about the incident. Members of the public are encouraged to contact detectives at 818-374-9437 or via email at [email protected].
