LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities and loved ones are searching for a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing in East Los Angeles, officials said.
Sheila Sarahi Camacho was last seen on December 20 near the 100 block of North Indiana Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). Her family has expressed growing concern for her safety, as she has not been in contact since her disappearance.
Camacho is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 178 pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a black hooded sweater, black leggings, and black Converse shoes, authorities said.
Officials classified Camacho as an at-risk teen, though specific details regarding her vulnerability were not disclosed.
“Sheila’s family is deeply worried for her well-being,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. “We are asking for the public’s help to bring her home safely.”
Friends and family have been distributing flyers and sharing her information on social media, urging anyone who may have seen her to come forward.
Authorities are continuing to investigate Camacho’s disappearance and are canvassing the neighborhood where she was last seen. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from local businesses and homes in the area for any clues about her whereabouts.
Officials have not indicated whether Camacho may have run away or if foul play is suspected.
