LOS ANGELES, CA – A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after three relatives were found fatally stabbed inside a Baldwin Park home Thursday night, authorities said.
Officers responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue, near Cavette Place, shortly before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival, police noticed an individual inside a vehicle parked in the driveway. As officers approached, the driver accelerated out of the driveway but crashed nearby within the cul-de-sac, officials said.
The driver, identified as a 23-year-old male, was detained at the scene as a person of interest and later arrested on suspicion of murder, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.
Inside the residence, investigators discovered three victims—two females and one male—suffering from multiple stab wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators confirmed that the suspect was related to the victims and lived at the residence.
“Out of respect for the family, the exact relationships will not be released at this time,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.
A motive for the stabbings has not yet been determined, and authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
