LOS ANGELES, CA – A suspected DUI traffic stop escalated into a high-speed police chase Friday night, ultimately ending in East Hollywood with the arrest of two suspects, including one found hiding in a dumpster.
The pursuit began in Simi Valley when an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle suspected of being driven under the influence. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen in San Diego, prompting a police pursuit.
The driver led officers on a prolonged chase, reaching speeds of over 100 mph on the 5 Freeway. The vehicle weaved through traffic, creating a hazardous situation for other drivers.

After several minutes of navigating side streets, the driver pulled over near the intersection of North Berendo Street and Clinton Street. Two individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot, prompting a search by responding officers.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) quickly established a perimeter and deployed additional units to locate the suspects.
Following an extensive search, officers apprehended one suspect hiding in a nearby dumpster. The second suspect was also located in the vicinity shortly thereafter. Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident.
