LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities in Los Angeles County are searching for two men suspected of stealing a cash register from a Bellflower taco shop in broad daylight earlier this week.
The theft occurred Tuesday afternoon at Tacos La Rueda, a small eatery that has now faced multiple incidents of theft since it opened its doors in 2023. Surveillance footage captured the moment one of the suspects entered the restaurant and grabbed the cash register while a second individual held the door open to assist in a quick escape.
According to the restaurant owner, the suspects fled the scene in a silver Mercedes-Benz. Roughly $1,000 in cash was taken in the theft. Despite the presence of customers and families dining at the time, no injuries were reported.
Law enforcement has not released detailed suspect descriptions, and no arrests have been made as of Thursday. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and working to identify the individuals involved.
The restaurant’s owner expressed frustration over the recurring incidents, stating this marked the third time the establishment had been targeted. The first two thefts reportedly took place shortly after the business launched last year. No further details were provided about previous investigations.
Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
