The incident began when the suspect stole a credit card from a locker at the Equinox gym in Irvine. The victim reported the theft soon after, but the suspect quickly used the stolen card to make significant purchases.
$18,000 Spent on Jewelry
With the stolen credit card, the thief bought $18,000 worth of jewelry at a nearby shopping mall. The suspect then attempted another transaction, this time at a different store, where he tried to purchase approximately $11,000 worth of clothing. Fortunately, the second transaction was declined, possibly preventing further losses.
Surveillance Images Released
Authorities have released surveillance footage capturing the suspect. The images show the man leaving the area in what is believed to be a black Infiniti QX60 SUV. The Irvine Police Department urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to come forward.
