Robbery Unfolds at Noon
The incident occurred around noon at the Chase Bank located near Portola and Bake Parkways. The suspect, a masked man armed with a handgun, entered the bank and approached a teller. According to authorities, he fired a shot toward the teller’s feet, prompting staff to comply with his demand for cash. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Search Operation Follows Robbery
Following the robbery, deputies, supported by a helicopter and K9 units, conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect. The man fled the scene quickly, and several items were found on a nearby trail that investigators believe could be connected to the crime.
Nearby School Lockdown
As a precaution, a nearby elementary school was placed on lockdown during the search to ensure the safety of students and staff. The lockdown was lifted shortly after authorities determined that there was no imminent threat.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a man with a thin build, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. At the time of the robbery, he wore a black facemask, a bucket-style hat, a yellow hooded sweatshirt, tan pants, and gloves, and was armed with a silver revolver-style handgun.
