LOS ANGELES, CA – Two people were taken into custody late Wednesday night following a dramatic police chase that spanned Los Angeles County, ending in Santa Monica. Authorities said the pursuit began in the San Gabriel Valley, where the driver of a white SUV was observed driving recklessly.
The chase covered multiple neighborhoods, with the vehicle seen looping through areas including Pacific Palisades, West Los Angeles, and Santa Monica before coming to a stop shortly after 10 p.m. Once the SUV halted, three individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot, leading to a manhunt that unfolded on live television.
One of the suspects attempted to evade capture by hiding in nearby bushes. However, after abandoning the bushes, the man began walking casually through a residential area in Santa Monica. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department apprehended him shortly thereafter, handcuffing him on the spot.
The second suspect was detained moments later. Both arrests were captured during a tense sequence of events that highlighted the suspects’ erratic efforts to escape.
The third individual who fled the scene remained unaccounted for as of 10:15 p.m., with no immediate updates from officials on their whereabouts.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspects were involved in any additional criminal activity beyond the initial pursuit. Investigators are expected to continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the chase and the behavior of those involved.
No injuries or property damage were reported during the incident, according to preliminary information from law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.
