Suspect Located After Months-Long Investigation
A man from Torrance, identified as 41-year-old Ronald Guidry, was apprehended in Las Vegas on October 17. He faces charges connected to the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy from Bell in Long Beach, California. According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), Guidry’s arrest results from a detailed investigation involving extensive coordination with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
August Shooting Claims Teen’s Life
The incident occurred on August 4 in the 3300 block of 67th Street, Long Beach. Around 2:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a teenage victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to LBPD, the teenager had been driven to the area by a male relative, only to be followed by a group of unknown suspects shortly after exiting the vehicle. Moments later, shots were fired, hitting both the victim and his relative’s car.
Relative Injured, Suspects Flee Scene
The relative, who sustained minor injuries, managed to escape and called for police assistance. The suspects reportedly fled on foot before officers arrived. LBPD’s investigation classified the case as gang-related, intensifying the urgency to identify those involved.
Arrest and Search Warrants Executed
Months of investigative efforts led to identifying Guidry as the primary suspect. Following his arrest, authorities issued search warrants across multiple locations, including Perris, Moreno Valley, Rialto, and Las Vegas.
