LOS ANGELES, CA – A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in which he allegedly ran over a woman with a vehicle in the early hours of Dec. 10, police said.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Thuan Cong Duong, was taken into custody on Dec. 17 by Garden Grove police following an investigation into the assault. He faces charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, according to authorities.
Police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 12200 block of Brookhurst Street at approximately 3 a.m. on Dec. 10. Upon arrival, officers found two victims at the scene—a 32-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
The woman, who sustained severe injuries, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. She later informed investigators that she had been intentionally struck by a vehicle. The second victim, a man, was uninjured in the incident. The vehicle involved in the assault was abandoned at the scene.
Following a week-long investigation, detectives identified Duong as the primary suspect. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victims or the motive for the alleged attack. Further details surrounding the circumstances of the assault remain under investigation.
Duong is currently being held at Orange County Jail, and no information on his bail status has been released.
