LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are investigating an incident involving a Lamborghini Urus that was abandoned following what appeared to be a minor crash in downtown Los Angeles early Thursday morning.
Police responded to a solo-vehicle collision around 2 a.m. on Alameda Street, near East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, after receiving reports of a high-end vehicle left unattended at the scene, officials said.
Officers arrived to find the luxury SUV with visible rear-end damage and deployed airbags. However, no occupants were inside the vehicle, prompting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Preliminary findings indicated that there was no evidence suggesting the Lamborghini had been stolen, investigators said.
Authorities have not yet identified the owner of the SUV, which has a starting price of approximately $250,000, according to industry sources.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and traffic cameras to determine the sequence of events leading up to the crash and to identify the driver.
Investigators are also working to determine whether the driver fled the scene due to possible impairment, outstanding warrants, or other legal concerns.
No injuries have been reported, and authorities said no other vehicles appeared to be involved.
