LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are searching for two dirt bike riders who led a high-speed chase across Los Angeles and called on a group of riders to join them mid-pursuit, creating a chaotic scene on city streets.
The chase began with two suspects on dirt bikes being pursued by the California Highway Patrol. During the chase, one of the riders was seen using his phone, and by 4:45 p.m., at least a dozen other riders on dirt bikes and ATVs had joined the fleeing pair.
The group traversed multiple neighborhoods, including East Los Angeles, Inglewood, Mid-City, and Pico Union, weaving through traffic and drawing the attention of onlookers. Officials have not disclosed why the original two riders were being pursued.
Footage of the chase captured the chaotic scene as the expanding group of riders disrupted traffic and evaded law enforcement. The addition of the other riders further complicated efforts by authorities to bring the situation under control.
The California Highway Patrol has not confirmed whether any arrests have been made, and the two initial suspects remain at large. Investigators are reviewing video footage to identify the riders involved in the incident and assess any potential charges related to the chase.
Officials are urging the public to provide any information about the identities of the suspects or the group of riders who joined the chase. The investigation is ongoing.
