A person was hospitalized with serious non-burn injuries after being found in a car outside a home engulfed in flames in Los Angeles’ West Adams area. The quick response from firefighters helped contain the fire, but investigations into its cause are ongoing.

Fire Breaks Out Early Morning in West Adams

Los Angeles, CA – In a startling incident early Friday morning, one individual was hospitalized following a fire that broke out at a residence in the 2700 block of South Alsace Avenue in the West Adams neighborhood. The Los Angeles Fire Department received the emergency call shortly after 7 a.m. and swiftly dispatched nearly three dozen firefighters to the scene.

Firefighting Efforts and Rapid Response

Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames emanating from the second floor of the two-story four-plex. Demonstrating remarkable efficiency, the firefighting team was able to extinguish the blaze within approximately 15 minutes. Fortunately, no patients were discovered inside the structure during the rescue operation.

However, a shocking turn of events unfolded as responders located one individual outside the residence, inside a vehicle. The patient exhibited a serious traumatic injury that was confirmed by officials to be unrelated to the fire itself. The unidentified individual was promptly transported to a local hospital in what has been described as “at least” serious condition.

Arson Investigation Underway

In light of these developments, an arson investigation team has been summoned to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire. Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of the blaze and whether any additional hazards may still be present in the area.

As the investigation continues, community members are left shaken by the event, highlighting the importance of fire safety and preparedness in urban environments. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of fires and the crucial role that firefighting services play in safeguarding lives and property.
