LOS ANGELES, CA – Family members are appealing to the community for help in finding 31-year-old Hannah Kobayashi, a Maui woman who disappeared after missing her connecting flight at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and has not been heard from since November 10.
Kobayashi was traveling from Maui to New York City to visit family but missed her connection at LAX on the night of November 8. Her family said she decided to visit The Grove, a popular Los Angeles shopping and entertainment complex, to attend an event featuring LeBron James.
When she returned to LAX days later, she sent troubling messages to her family. “She mentioned feeling scared and said someone might be trying to steal her money and identity,” said her aunt, Larie Pidgeon.
Kobayashi’s final text messages included cryptic references to “the matrix,” which Pidgeon described as unusual and out of character. Communication abruptly ceased after those messages, raising alarm among her loved ones.
Kobayashi is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and fair skin with freckles.
Pidgeon and other family members have traveled to Los Angeles to distribute flyers and conduct searches, and they have launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with expenses related to the search.
Anyone with information about Kobayashi’s whereabouts is urged to contact Larie Pidgeon directly at 845-750-3006.
The family remains hopeful for answers as the search intensifies and is asking the community for any assistance in finding their loved one.
