LOS ANGELES, CA – A convicted felon was arrested in Orange County after authorities said he attempted to recruit an undercover police officer, posing as a woman, to work for him as a prostitute.
The Anaheim Police Department reported that the incident unfolded during an operation conducted by the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF). Investigators said 35-year-old Lawrence Henderson, of Stockton, used social media to communicate with the officer, believing he was in contact with a potential recruit.
According to authorities, Henderson agreed to drive from Northern California to Orange County to meet the woman he had been messaging. However, when he arrived at the prearranged location on Wednesday, December 11, he was met instead by law enforcement officers and was taken into custody.
Police said Henderson was carrying a loaded firearm equipped with a high-capacity magazine at the time of his arrest. A search of his vehicle also uncovered a loaded 50-round drum magazine, raising additional safety concerns.
Henderson was booked on multiple charges, including pimping, pandering, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and violating the terms of his parole.
The investigation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking and illegal firearms possession. Authorities credited the work of the OCHTTF in preventing further crimes linked to trafficking operations.
