LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old boy who went missing in Los Angeles County on New Year’s Day.
The teenager, identified as Anthony George Martinez, was last seen at approximately 1:30 p.m. on January 1, 2024, near the 5000 block of Pine Avenue in the city of Maywood, according to a special bulletin issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Described as a critical missing juvenile, Anthony’s disappearance has raised concerns for his safety. Officials said he has no history of running away, and his family has expressed worry about his well-being.
Anthony is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a black puffy zippered jacket and blue jeans.
Authorities noted that Anthony was carrying a wooden rosary and wore a gold cross necklace. They added that the teenager does not have any known medical issues that might explain his disappearance.
Investigators have not provided any additional details about the circumstances leading to Anthony’s disappearance and are continuing to follow up on leads as they search for him.
