LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities canceled an Amber Alert Wednesday evening after a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing in Inglewood was located safe, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The Amber Alert was initially issued earlier in the day for Nevaeh Holden, who was last seen near the intersection of 97th Street and Flower Street in Inglewood, officials said.
Holden was believed to have been abducted by 59-year-old Edward Mason, prompting law enforcement to activate the statewide alert to assist in locating the teenager.
Investigators reported that Mason was last seen driving a black 2013 Dodge Caravan with California license plate 6ZM7987. Authorities did not immediately release information about whether Mason and Holden had any prior relationship or what circumstances led to the abduction.
The alert remained active throughout the afternoon as officials urged the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the vehicle or suspect.
By approximately 5:40 p.m., the CHP announced that the Amber Alert had been canceled after Holden was successfully located. Officials confirmed that the teen was safe, but they did not provide specific details about the circumstances of her recovery or whether Mason was taken into custody.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, including whether any charges will be filed against Mason. No further information about the suspect’s involvement or motives was immediately made available.
The California Highway Patrol encouraged anyone with additional information about the case to contact their local law enforcement agency or the CHP directly.
Residents are also urged to sign up for Amber Alerts via their mobile devices and social media channels to remain informed about emergency situations involving missing children.
Officials credited the public’s assistance and rapid dissemination of the Amber Alert for helping ensure the safe recovery of the teen.
Further updates regarding the investigation and any legal proceedings related to the incident are expected in the coming days as authorities review the facts of the case.
