LOS ANGELES, CA – A man was hospitalized after being shot during a reported robbery at a recording studio in East Hollywood on Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers with LAPD’s Rampart Division responded to a call around 10 p.m. at The Room Melrose, a recording facility located in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Authorities said the shooting occurred during the course of a robbery.
Preliminary findings indicate the victim told police that a Rolex watch was taken during the incident. He was transported to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery. No further details regarding his condition have been released, and his identity has not been made public.
Police have not confirmed how many suspects may have been involved or whether they remain at large. As of Friday morning, no arrests had been announced and no suspect descriptions were available.
The investigation remains in its early stages, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area and speaking with witnesses in an effort to identify those responsible.
The Room Melrose is a well-known creative space used by musicians, producers, and recording artists. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was an employee or a guest at the facility at the time of the incident.
