LOS ANGELES, CA – A Mexican restaurant in Arcadia was burglarized early Sunday, and its owners say three other businesses on the same street were also broken into, according to the restaurant.
La Casita Del Sol, in the 4100 block of East Live Oak Avenue, was burglarized around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, the restaurant said. Arcadia police had not publicly commented on the incident as of Oct. 26.
The restaurant described the break-ins as a string of burglaries along the same stretch of East Live Oak Avenue. It said the owner has contacted police.
Hooded suspect breaks glass front door
According to the restaurant, a hooded suspect walked up to the front of the business and broke the glass front door. The suspect then stepped through the shattered panel and entered the dining area.
Once inside, the suspect went through drawers and picked up several items, the restaurant said. The break-in happened in the dark hours before sunrise, around 4:45 a.m.
Speaker and cell phone taken
The restaurant said the burglar took only a speaker and a cell phone. Employees used the phone in place of a landline.
The restaurant did not report that cash or other property was missing. It also did not give a repair cost for the door.
Second break-in at the restaurant
The owner said this was the second time the restaurant has been broken into. She did not say when the earlier break-in happened or whether it was reported to police.
The restaurant said she has been in contact with police about the latest burglary. The restaurant did not say whether officers came to the scene.
Three other businesses on the street
The owners said three other businesses on East Live Oak Avenue were hit in the same series of burglaries. The restaurant did not name them or say what was taken.
No agency has confirmed that the four burglaries are connected, and the restaurant’s account is the only description of them available so far.
Where police incident reporting stands
The Arcadia Police Department publishes a Weekly Police Activity report, which it describes as an overview of incidents reported in the city. As of Oct. 27, the latest published report covered Oct. 11 to Oct. 17, and the report for Oct. 18 to Oct. 24 was listed as in progress.
The Oct. 25 burglary falls after the period covered by either report.
Other recent burglary arrests in Arcadia
Arcadia police have made arrests in other commercial burglaries this year. On June 17 at about 3:20 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm at Fika Fika Coffee on West Huntington Drive and determined a commercial burglary had occurred, according to the City of Arcadia’s July 2026 public information update.
The city reported that investigators identified the vehicle involved and detained the suspects in it during a traffic stop a few hours later. All four adult male suspects were arrested and booked at the Arcadia Police Department on burglary charges.
Police also arrested two El Monte men after a burglary on the night of Oct. 22 at a business in the 5500 block of North Peck Road. Police said they were alerted to that burglary at about 10:47 p.m. and that the two men were found on the property and surrendered without incident.
Nothing in the available information links either of those cases to the burglaries on East Live Oak Avenue.
Business Watch program for owners
The department runs a Business Watch program that aims to educate business owners and operators on how to minimize and prevent themselves and their businesses from becoming the victims of crime. Under its “See Something – Say Something” campaign, owners are asked to report anything suspicious in their business district.
In an emergency, people should call 9-1-1. The department’s non-emergency number is (626) 574-5123.
No arrest reported in Live Oak Avenue burglaries
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5123.
No arrest has been reported in connection with the Oct. 25 burglary at La Casita Del Sol or the three other break-ins the restaurant described. Any suspect who is arrested would be presumed innocent, and an arrest is not a conviction.
