Arrests Made in Connection to Fatal Shooting of 18-Year-Old Isaac Gonzalez
Two teenagers, Fabian Diaz, 18, and a 17-year-old male, were arrested on October 25 in connection to the August 2024 murder of 18-year-old Isaac Gonzalez in Coachella, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Incident Details and Discovery
On August 28, authorities responded to reports of gunfire on the 84900 block of Calle Rojo at approximately 10:34 p.m. Officers found Gonzalez lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene by first responders.
Investigation and Charges
Following extensive investigation, Diaz and the 17-year-old, both residents of Coachella, were identified as suspects in the murder. Due to his minor status, the younger suspect’s identity has not been disclosed. Both suspects face charges of murder, robbery, and conspiracy. Diaz was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center, while the 17-year-old was detained at a juvenile hall facility.
Ongoing Investigation
