LOS ANGELES, CA – Three employees were wounded and another staff member was taken into custody after a shooting at a senior living facility in South Los Angeles late Monday morning, according to information provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting was reported at approximately 10:50 a.m. in the 7000 block of Denver Avenue, near South Figueroa Street and West Florence Avenue, in the Vermont-Slauson area.
The facility was identified as Progressive Home for the Elderly, a senior housing community serving older adults. Police said the three people who were shot were employees of the facility, as was the person taken into custody.

However, one coworker said the man had not previously displayed behavior that suggested he might commit a violent act.
