LOS ANGELES, CA – A man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly threatening to shoot members of a film crew working in North Hollywood, prompting a Los Angeles Police Department response to the set.

Police were called to the 13400 block of Saticoy Street, near the Tujunga Wash, after receiving a report that someone had threatened people filming in the area.

According to authorities, the man allegedly threatened to shoot individuals on the set before walking back into his residence.

LAPD said the suspect was not armed when officers responded.

Officers ultimately detained a man at the scene and later placed him under arrest.

Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect or released additional information about what charges he may face.

The available information also does not indicate what prompted the confrontation, whether the man had any prior connection to the production or whether the alleged threat followed a dispute involving filming activity in the neighborhood.

No injuries were reported in the information released about the incident.

Police also have not said whether officers searched the residence or recovered any weapons after the arrest.

Information reviewed by Street People indicates the incident unfolded around an active location shoot rather than on a traditional studio lot.

That distinction is relevant in Los Angeles, where filming outside certified soundstages or studio backlots generally requires a location permit from the appropriate jurisdiction. The City of Los Angeles identifies FilmLA as the organization responsible for centralized coordination of on-location film permitting in the city.

The city’s Office of Citywide Filming also coordinates with FilmLA and individual city departments on issues involving filming locations, road restrictions and other production needs.

Nothing in the information released by police suggests the production itself was operating improperly, however, and authorities have not said that permitting or neighborhood filming rules played any role in the alleged threat.

The incident instead remains centered on the man’s alleged statements toward people working on the set.

Details about the production itself have also not been released. Authorities have not identified the movie, television show, commercial or other project being filmed on Saticoy Street at the time.

Police have likewise not disclosed how many crew members were present or whether filming resumed after the arrest.

North Hollywood and the surrounding San Fernando Valley remain heavily used for production activity, with the City of Los Angeles maintaining dedicated services intended to support film and television work throughout the region.

Monday’s response underscores a different kind of concern for crews working on location, where production activity can place workers in residential and commercial neighborhoods rather than behind the controlled boundaries of a studio.

In this case, however, police have released only limited information and have not described the alleged threat beyond saying the man threatened to shoot people on the set.

The suspect was detained without any reported shooting, and authorities said he was unarmed.

LAPD has not announced the suspect’s name or provided further details about the investigation.
