LOS ANGELES, CA – Four people, including two juveniles, were arrested after a violent robbery near a Culver City shopping mall left a man seriously injured, a woman robbed of her jewelry and two children knocked from their stroller, police said.

The attack happened on Aug. 31 at a retail location in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, near the Westfield Culver City shopping mall, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Police said a group of suspects confronted and assaulted a man during the robbery.

The attack left him with serious injuries, though authorities have not publicly provided additional information about his condition or the specific nature of those injuries.

The man’s girlfriend was also targeted.

According to investigators, suspects took jewelry from her during the robbery, and she suffered minor injuries.

Two children who were with the couple were knocked from their stroller while the attack unfolded.

Police have not said whether either child suffered injuries.

Surveillance Video Became Critical to Investigation

After the robbery, detectives began reviewing surveillance footage collected from the surrounding area.

Police said the video provided critical evidence and investigative leads that helped officers identify people believed to have been involved.

Those leads eventually took investigators outside Culver City.

On Wednesday, detectives located four suspects in Los Angeles and took them into custody.

Authorities identified two of the arrested suspects as Zahier Frazier, 18, of Panorama City, and Keira Wilis, 24, of Los Angeles.

Two additional suspects are juveniles whose names have not been released.

All four were booked on suspicion of robbery, police said.

Because two of those arrested are minors, their identities are generally protected from public disclosure through the juvenile justice process.

An arrest on suspicion of a crime is not a conviction, and the allegations against all four suspects remain subject to review through the criminal justice system.

Additional Charges Could Follow

Police said the investigation remains active and that the suspects could face additional charges as detectives continue examining the attack.

Authorities have not specified what additional allegations are being considered.

That could depend on evidence involving the severity of the assault, injuries suffered by the victims and each suspect’s alleged role in the robbery.

Police have also not publicly said whether weapons were used.

The available information describes a violent physical assault but does not identify a firearm, knife or other weapon.

More Suspects May Be Outstanding

Detectives believe additional people may have participated in the robbery.

That means Wednesday’s arrests may not mark the end of the investigation.

Police have not said how many additional suspects they are looking for or released descriptions of anyone still outstanding.

Investigators also have not disclosed whether surveillance footage shows the entire robbery, how many people participated from beginning to end or whether vehicles connected to the suspects have been recovered.

The department has not announced whether any of the stolen jewelry was located following the arrests.

6000 Block of Sepulveda Has Seen Other Robbery Investigations

Street People reviewed publicly available Culver City Police Department crime reports for broader context.

Previous department reports show that the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard has appeared repeatedly in robbery and assault investigations over the years, including separate cases documented in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Those incidents are unrelated to the Aug. 31 robbery and do not establish any direct connection to the latest case.

The location is part of one of Culver City’s busiest commercial corridors, with large retail properties and significant pedestrian and vehicle activity surrounding the mall area.

That commercial environment can also provide detectives with an extensive network of private surveillance cameras, which appears to have been particularly important in this investigation.

Children Were Knocked From Stroller During Attack

One of the most troubling details in the case involves the two children who were present during the robbery.

Police said both were knocked out of their stroller as the adults were attacked.

Authorities have not clarified whether the stroller was overturned intentionally, struck during the struggle or displaced as people moved during the confrontation.

They also have not disclosed the children’s ages.

No information has been released indicating that either child required hospital treatment.

The lack of additional detail means the precise danger they faced during the robbery remains unclear, but police have confirmed that they were physically displaced from the stroller during the attack.

Motive Appears to Center on Robbery

Police have characterized the incident as a robbery and said the woman’s jewelry was taken.

Authorities have not said whether the suspects specifically targeted the family because of visible jewelry or whether the encounter began for another reason and escalated into theft.

They also have not disclosed the value or type of jewelry stolen.

Investigators have not said whether the victims and suspects knew one another beforehand.

Based on the available information, there is no public indication of any prior relationship.

Detectives Continue Searching for Evidence

The arrests followed several days of investigative work between the Aug. 31 attack and Wednesday’s operation in Los Angeles.

Surveillance footage played a central role, according to police.

Detectives may now continue comparing that footage with witness statements and other evidence as they determine the alleged role of each arrested person and identify anyone else who may have participated.

Police have not announced whether search warrants were served in connection with Wednesday’s arrests.

They also have not disclosed whether cellphones, clothing or other potential evidence was seized.

Anyone with information about the robbery, including anyone who witnessed the incident or may have additional video, is asked to contact Culver City Police Investigations Lt. Ryan Thompson at 310-253-6302 or [email protected].

The investigation remains ongoing, and police say additional arrests or charges remain possible.
