LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are searching for a 34-year-old inmate who escaped from a Female Community Reentry Program facility in Santa Fe Springs late Sunday night.
Christina Hammond was discovered missing at 8:43 p.m. when staff received a tamper alert from her ankle monitor and found the device in her bed area, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
Surveillance footage showed Hammond leaving the facility, located on the 11100 block of Bloomfield Avenue, through a side door and scaling garden gates on the building’s northeast side, officials said.
Hammond had been transferred to the Santa Fe Springs reentry program from San Bernardino County on July 1 and was serving a five-year sentence for assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, with an enhancement for inflicting great bodily injury. She was scheduled for release on Dec. 21, 2025.
Hammond is described as white, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds, with a light complexion, light brown hair, and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray jacket, gray sweatpants, gloves, and carrying a blue bag.
The Female Community Reentry Program provides an alternative to state prison for eligible female inmates. The program includes rehabilitative services such as substance abuse recovery and employment assistance to prepare participants for reintegration into society.
Authorities urge anyone who sees Hammond or has information about her whereabouts to contact local law enforcement or call 911.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to locate Hammond and ensure public safety.
