LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman who were found fatally shot in Altadena on Friday evening, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies from the Altadena Station responded to a welfare check request at approximately 8:04 p.m. in the 700 block of West Sacramento Street, near Casitas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims unresponsive inside the residence, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Paramedics pronounced both individuals dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting. Officials have not disclosed whether a suspect has been identified or whether the incident appears to be a targeted attack or the result of domestic violence.
Authorities are canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes in an effort to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
