LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities in Long Beach are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a woman hospitalized following a collision at a busy intersection in the city late last month, police said.
The crash occurred on December 26 at approximately 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of California Avenue and San Antonio Drive, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators said the suspect, described as a male driver, was traveling eastbound on San Antonio Drive when he allegedly ran a red light and collided with the victim’s vehicle.
Following the impact, the suspect briefly exited his vehicle, appearing to assess the damage, but quickly returned to his car and fled the scene, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the female driver in her vehicle with injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, though her condition has not been disclosed.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a tan-colored Toyota Avalon sedan with significant front-end damage visible in surveillance footage obtained by investigators.
Authorities said the suspect remains at large, and efforts to locate him are ongoing.
