LOS ANGELES, CA – A crash involving a FedEx truck and an SUV early Monday morning caused significant delays on the westbound 10 Freeway in Pomona, prompting authorities to issue a SigAlert and shut down all lanes for several hours.
The collision occurred around 4:15 a.m. near the 57 Freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness reported that the big rig hydroplaned before crashing into the center divider, blocking traffic in multiple lanes. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes were closed at 4:23 a.m., causing heavy traffic congestion during the morning commute. Drivers were advised to allow for extra travel time or seek alternate routes. By 6:45 a.m., authorities reopened two lanes to ease congestion, and by 8:15 a.m., all lanes were fully reopened.
No immediate information was available on injuries or the cause of the crash beyond initial witness reports. The incident remains under investigation.
